Power of Water Canada Conference Shifted to Spring
For immediate release
June 1, 2020 – Peterborough – The Ontario Waterpower Association (OWA) is pleased to announce that it will host the “Reset and Re-energize Virtual Summit” the mornings of Tuesday, September 15th and Wednesday September 16th. The event will augment and complement the OWA’s successful annual Power of Water Canada Conference, which has been shifted to May 25-27, 2021 in order to maximize value to participants.
“As Ontario and other jurisdictions move cautiously to re-open the economy, public safety remains paramount”, said Stephen Somerville, Chair of the OWA Board of Directors. “We are taking a prudent approach to our annual conference while providing an additional venue to engage the industry and focus on the future”.
The Virtual Summit will feature fast-paced sessions on the key role of waterpower in the context of immediate and emerging economic imperatives and environmental opportunities as well as industry operational challenges and technical innovations. In addition, there will be a strong emphasis on participant networking, product and service provider profiling and self-directed business discussions, facilitated through state-of-the-art software. Moving the annual Power of Water Canada Conference to May will enhance the delegate experience of beautiful Niagara on the Lake.
“I’m extremely excited to add this new venture to the suite of benefits the Association provides to its members and conference delegates”, said Janelle Bates, OWA’s Director of Membership Relations and Events. “This is a good example of the resilience, flexibility and innovation that defines the waterpower industry”.
The Power of Water Canada Conference is the largest event of its kind and is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. More than four hundred delegates and over sixty exhibitors from across North America participate annually. The spring 2021 event will again be held at the world class White Oaks Resort in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.
