Be a part of the voice for the waterpower industry. Responsible advocacy is at the core of the OWA’s work on behalf of the industry, both with respect to existing assets and new opportunities. Advancing the economic prosperity of generating facilities necessarily benefits the broader industry that comprises OWA’s membership.
Corporate Leadership: Member companies are able to nominate, vote and stand for election for a seat on the Board of Directors. The OWA is structured as a “one member, one vote” organization, ensuring all member companies have an opportunity to serve in a leadership role.
Committees and Task Teams: Members are invited and encouraged to participate on policy Task Teams of direct interest to provide advice on current and emerging initiatives.
Annual Queen’s Park Day Event: This event is vital to sharing the experience and knowledge of our members with elected officials to help inform a wide range of waterpower priorities. Political engagement is an integral part of OWA’s work and we have seen how these opportunities lead to positive policy change. Member participation in this event is instrumental to furthering this goal.
