The Trusted Voice for the Waterpower Industry
Since 2001, the Ontario Waterpower Association (OWA) has been representing the common and collective interests of the waterpower industry. To date, our membership has grown to 140 member companies and includes waterpower generators, the product and service providers who support them, communities and individuals. The OWA has built a strong and respected reputation with all levels of government, and across all political parties.
By joining the OWA you will be part of the trusted voice for the waterpower industry and will share in our goals to sustain and enhance Ontario’s existing waterpower assets and to provide new opportunities for waterpower expansion in Ontario.

Advocacy: Responsible advocacy is at the core of the OWA’s work on behalf of the industry, both with respect to existing assets and new opportunities. Advancing the economic prosperity of generating facilities necessarily benefits the broader industry that comprises OWA’s membership.
Leadership: Member companies are able to nominate, vote and stand for election for a seat on the Board of Directors. The OWA is structured as a “one member, one vote” organization, ensuring all member companies have an opportunity to serve in a leadership role.
Task Teams: Members are invited and encouraged to participate on policy Task Teams of direct interest to provide advice on current and emerging initiatives.
Networking: Membership to the OWA provides your organization with the opportunity to be part of of the waterpower community and build your network. As a OWA member you will be provided with exclusive access to other members and business opportunities.

Membership to the OWA is by the member company, not by the individual. Under the umbrella of the member company, membership also includes all company employees.
